SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE
WHAT TO EXPECT
01
TIMELINE MEETING
I will reach out to you to schedule a phone call (optional) where we will talk through your timeline questions, and I will help you get on the right track so that you feel confident sending out your invitations.
02
LOCATION CONFIRMATION
Approximately 3 months before your wedding day we will chat through your vision and I will make recommendations for locations which best suit your vision and have the best light available to us within the time set side for portraits.
03
FINAL QUESTIONNAIRE
Approximately 2 months before your wedding day you will receive an in depth questionnaire which will go over all of the important information I need to know to show up and capture your day.
04
THE DAY IS HERE
Since we have done all the prep work before your wedding day, all you need to do is show up and get married! I want you to relax and leave the rest up to me.
The Timeline
I shoot a mix of documentary and prompted/posed images to create your final gallery. To some extent can be tailored to you if you lean more heavily in favour of one or the other, but I do recommend a mix. For example family photos or formal portraits require intentionality and direction, but for the remainder of your day my goal is that you forget I'm there as much as possible and just enjoy your day to the fullest.
Think of it as a collaboration. The more you can relax and be yourself, the more you will see yourself in your gallery. Of course I will show up prepared and give direction when appropriate, but I invite you to trust me and live in the moment without any worry about the photographs— it might seem counterintuitive but trust me you'll love your photos that much more if you do. It's my job to deliver a beautiful gallery and your job to have the best day and marry the love of your life.
SAMPLE TIMELINES
THE BRIDE: GETTING READY
I would suggest setting aside 1.5 hours with the bride and bridesmaids at minimum, 2 if details are a priority to you.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
-
when hair and makeup need to be done so that we are not waiting around for you, the bridesmaids, or any family members during the getting ready process
-
have your bridesmaids keep the space clean, designate a spot for bags. What you see will be reflected in your photos, so if you don't want it to look messy keep this in mind!
IDEAS:
-
pyjama photos (think vintage slip dresses, or silk pyjamas for an editorial look)
-
champagne
-
gifts for bridesmaids or family members
-
opening a letter from the groom
-
prayer times
THE DETAILS
I highly recommend putting all relevant details into a box at each getting ready location, that way when I arrive I can quickly transition into shooting all your beautiful details. Think about any family heirlooms, or unique pieces that you would like to be included.
